Through developing writing relationships between working scientists and upper-division science majors, the Science Writing Consortium aims to act as a forum for this collaboration to:

  1. Provide upper-division science majors with real world experience in writing scientific material for non-expert audiences.
  2. Provide usable documents for scientific organizations to promote their missions, keep their constituents informed, and report on current research.
  3. Create a resource for students, scientists, and scientific organizations to generate ideas on how to write and reach non-expert audiences.
